Fast forward 21 weeks, and we lost our baby girl.
I was devastated and really started to withdraw. With the help of my counselor, I realised I was putting on this mask and pretending to be a strong, independent woman, when really I was struggling. And neglecting myself.
I began a journey of making time for me. I didn’t wanna go for a run – I mean, that’s good for me and all, but it’s not really something I look forward to, you know? I knew my “me time” had to be fun, creative, simple, and instantly rewarding.
One thing I did to take my mind off everything was help my friend with his soap and candle making business. Before I knew it, I was spending my evenings (after the kids finally passed out) messing around with ingredients in my kitchen.
